What Semiconductor.co.uk is

Semiconductor.co.uk is an independently owned resource focused specifically on mapping and explaining the UK semiconductor industry.

Rather than operating as a conventional trade magazine, the site organises sector information around the businesses, capabilities, regional clusters, investment, policy, events and people that make up the UK semiconductor ecosystem. Our aim is to make the sector easier to understand, research and navigate.

Information published here is:

• structured for practical use
• corrected when better information becomes available
• separated from commercial partnerships

What this site is not

Semiconductor.co.uk is not intended to replicate daily semiconductor journalism. We focus on structured UK industry information, significant developments and resources that retain value beyond a daily news cycle. We organise and connect the UK semiconductor ecosystem rather than trying to report every semiconductor news story.

The platform is still being built. We make no claim to complete coverage of the sector, and accuracy takes priority over reaching an arbitrary number of entries.

Purpose

Semiconductor.co.uk exists to answer straightforward questions about the UK semiconductor sector — how large it is, what kinds of company it contains, where activity is concentrated, and what Government policy is doing — with figures that can be traced to their publisher.

Editorial approach

• Primary sources first. Where UK Government research exists, it is used in preference to secondary commentary.
• Every figure is attributed. Statistics appear alongside the publication, publisher and date they come from.
• Paraphrase, not reproduction. Official material is summarised in our own words and linked, rather than copied.
• Estimates are labelled as estimates. Sector revenue, GVA and employment figures are modelled estimates, not audited totals.
• No invented detail. Named companies, valuations, testimonials and endorsements are not published unless they can be sourced.

Ownership and independence

Semiconductor.co.uk is independently and privately owned and is being developed as a long-term reference and industry platform for the UK semiconductor sector.

The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the UK Government, any Government department, semiconductor manufacturer, trade body, research institution or industry organisation unless a relationship is expressly stated. Commercial relationships do not determine the conclusions, statistics or organisations included within the site's independent reference material.

Independent content and commercial content

Independent reference content. The core research — sector data, policy, company structure and cluster information — is editorially controlled and is not influenced by payment.

Commercial content. Senior appointments, event promotion, industry announcements and industry partnerships may be paid-for products, and are clearly identifiable where appropriate.

Payment never secures:

• inclusion within the independent sector research
• a favourable editorial conclusion or endorsement
• alteration of sector data or rankings
• preferential treatment within factual reference content

Corrections

Accuracy matters more than completeness here. If a figure, attribution or description is wrong, please say so and it will be corrected or removed. Corrections can be raised through the enquiry form — mark the message as a correction and it will be routed accordingly rather than treated as a commercial enquiry.

Review dates

Pages are reviewed against first-party sources when the underlying figures or policies change. The date of the most recent substantive review is recorded in each page's metadata rather than displayed on the page, and it changes only when the content is actually checked — never automatically on deployment.
