EnSilica to establish space and communications semiconductor centre in Milan

EnSilica — Abingdon, Oxfordshire — 8 September 2026

EnSilica, the custom ASIC design and supply company headquartered at Milton Park in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, has announced plans for a Space and Communications Semiconductor Centre of Excellence in Milan.

The company says it initially intends to recruit 20 specialist modem and mmWave engineers over roughly six months, expanding its European engineering capability in communications and space-focused silicon.

EnSilica designs application-specific integrated circuits for customers in communications, automotive, industrial and space markets, and takes devices through to supply. Space and satellite communications work places particular demands on radio-frequency and modem design, and the engineering skills involved are concentrated in a small number of European centres.
