Filtronic signs agreement aimed at expanding access to India's space and defence markets

Filtronic has announced a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Spur Microwave, a Marubeni Group company, covering India's space and defence markets.

Filtronic — Sedgefield, County Durham — 7 September 2026

Filtronic, the County Durham-based designer and manufacturer of high-frequency radio-frequency and microwave products, has announced a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Spur Microwave, part of the Marubeni Group.

The agreement is intended to strengthen Filtronic's route to customers and programmes in India's space and defence markets. As a non-binding memorandum, it sets out an intention to work together rather than committing either party to specific orders.

Filtronic's products sit in the millimetre-wave and microwave domain, including transceiver modules and amplifiers used in satellite communications, defence electronics and mobile infrastructure. That work depends on compound semiconductor devices, notably gallium arsenide and gallium nitride, which places the company in the applications layer of the UK semiconductor supply chain.

Details are as announced by Filtronic.
