Phasix ESD

Hampshire test laboratory providing ESD, latch-up and TLP testing of semiconductor devices for qualification and characterisation.

Company overview

Phasix ESD is the trading name of Hi Gain Limited, an independent test laboratory near Andover in Hampshire that specialises in electrostatic discharge (ESD) testing of semiconductor devices. Its work centres on device qualification and characterisation for quality and reliability, using Human Body Model, Machine Model and Charged Device Model stress testing alongside latch-up and transmission line pulse (TLP) measurement. The laboratory also carries out investigative work to establish the level and mechanism of specific failures. Test fixtures for socketed parts are developed in house, with testers offering up to 768 channels for high-pin-count devices, plus robotic CDM and two-pin HBM systems that avoid fixture limits. The company states a standard turnaround of five working days. It holds ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation and is listed as UKAS Accredited Testing Laboratory No. 4670. Its technical director takes part in the joint ESDA/JEDEC working groups responsible for HBM and CDM test standards.
