Siloton

Siloton is a Bristol-based company that develops and applies photonic integrated circuits (PICs) to miniaturise medical imaging technology. Its core focus is on Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a technique used for detecting and monitoring major diseases. The company’s photonic chip technology enables the creation of significantly smaller, mass-manufacturable OCT systems compared to traditional optics. These systems are used in ophthalmology to screen for conditions such as age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma, and have potential applications for detecting multiple sclerosis and diabetes. Siloton provides its technology to other product developers through OCT-chip development kits and customisation services. The company is also developing its own complete ophthalmic OCT system based on its proprietary PICs.
