Viper RF is a microwave and millimetre-wave product company headquartered in Newton Aycliffe. Founded in 2008 as a design consultancy, it has grown into a global supplier of Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs). The company provides both standard products and custom-designed MMICs using Gallium Arsenide (GaAs), Gallium Nitride (GaN), and Silicon Germanium (SiGe) technologies, covering frequencies from 1GHz to 250GHz. In addition to MMICs, Viper RF develops custom RF modules that integrate its own components. It operates a Class 10,000 cleanroom for in-house prototype module assembly and production testing up to 110GHz. The company serves the aerospace, defence, communications, and space markets. It has supplied over 35,000 MMICs for use in satellites and collaborates with semiconductor foundries, packaging partners, and universities on development. Viper RF also has an office in France.
