Company profile

Chevin Technology

Cambridge developer of configurable Ethernet hardware IP cores for FPGA and ASIC designs.

Company overview

Chevin Technology develops and licenses configurable Ethernet hardware intellectual property from its base at the Bradfield Centre on the Cambridge Science Park. Its IP cores implement 10G and 25G Ethernet MAC and PCS functions, together with TCP/IP and UDP/IP offload engines, using all-logic architectures that target AMD/Xilinx and Intel/Altera FPGAs and are also applicable to ASIC designs. The cores are used in data-acquisition, industrial, defence and research systems that need deterministic, low-latency network connectivity implemented in hardware. By handling protocol processing in logic rather than software, the IP frees host processors and improves throughput and timing predictability. Chevin licenses its cores with source code and support, and undertakes customisation for specific applications from its Cambridge engineering base.
