Equipment Support Company (ESC) designs, manufactures, and services a range of specialised systems for clients in the UK, Europe, and the USA. Founded in 1991, the Cambridgeshire-based firm initially provided service support to the semiconductor industry before expanding to design and build its own physical vapour deposition (PVD) solutions. Its product range now includes sputtering systems, thermal and e-gun evaporators, and ion beam deposition tools, alongside bespoke vacuum systems and high-voltage test equipment. ESC continues to service and upgrade third-party equipment, including legacy MRC batch tools used in semiconductor fabrication. Beyond semiconductors, the company has diversified to supply complex vacuum solutions for applications in space simulation, nuclear fusion, high energy physics, and materials science. It operates from its facility in Somersham, which includes factory and test capabilities.
